This charming hotel has been created by combining the original 17th Century Coaching Inn with the adjoining rectory and corn mill in the sleepy market town of Kirkbymoorside.
Ideally situated on the A170 between Helmsley and Pickering, in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, the George and Dragon Hotel is a very special place. Rich in history, heritage and beauty, a sympathetic refurbishment has made the bar, bistro and restaurant areas stylish, welcoming and comfortable; the perfect place to meet, relax, unwind, eat and drink.
The George and Dragon is also a pub serving traditional pub food and real ales; a bistro and a fine dining restaurant where the skills of the 3 chefs are shown to their full. A passion for wines has resulted in a vast selection of carefully chosen and fairly priced bins.
Sports enthusiasts will find a collection of cricket, rugby and golf memorabilia, particularly fascinating; photographs, autographs, prints and paraphernalia adorn every wall, and provide many opportunities for reminiscence and discussion.
Smoking customers are still well looked after with an outdoor covered, lit and heated smoking area with tables and chairs.
